about his contribution to our Greene Country office.”
In addition to his real estate accomplishments,
David Eddins’ unique knowledge and interests bring remarkable insight and perspective to both the property and business
sides of the real estate table.
Foremost, is his passion for land and farms. David
Eddins has spent the better part of his life managing the family crop and cattle business, which includes overseeing more
than 800 acres of farmlands all over Central Virginia. Add to that, he was honored as Virginia Young Farmer of the Year, served
as President of The Young Farmer’s Association and President of the Greene Country Farm Bureau, and was a founding member
of the Board of Directors for the Greene County Fair. Also, he taught vocational agriculture at Greene County’s William
Monroe High School.
As a former salesman for Pioneer Seed Company,
David Eddins traveled regularly to farms and estates all over Virginia, securing a wealth of hands-on knowledge regarding
Virginia land and properties. Simply put, he knows and has been to, most of the region’s farms, and he has met, and
knows, most of Central Virginia’s farming families, giving him an unusual and broad perspective and understanding of
Virginia crop and livestock realties, as well as equestrian properties.
Also, David Eddins has significant expertise helping
clients develop properties from conception to sales, and he has developed several large and small properties in the Charlottesville
area for clients and business partners. Moreover, he is experienced in leading clients through county and government requirements
– including zoning, planning and transportation requirements – and is well versed with issues of land preservation
and conservation easements, their resources and policies. He has extensive experience and knowledge regarding the Virginia
Department of Agriculture programs that are available to both new and old farm and estate owners.
Experience as owner/partner in charge of sales
and operations for Eddins and French Construction, a firm specializing in building and renovation of local residential homes,
has afforded David Eddins unparalleled knowledge regarding residential design and construction, especially in the Charlottesville
area.
David Eddins served as Chairman and Member of
the Greene County School Board, Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors of the Warrenton Farm Credit Bank, and in 2007
was a Member of the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors Strategic Planning Committee.
As part of his extensive community involvement
and leadership, David Eddins supported county youth as a basketball and baseball coach, and still continues to help fund community
youth sports programs.
He is graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute
and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia, and holds a GRI from the Realtor Institute.
David Eddins enjoys playing golf, relaxing at
the beach, and he is an avid “collector” of John Deere tractors and heavy equipment. He and his wife, Claire,
a writer and “collector” of horses, and 10-year-old son, Wyatt, live on their farm in Stanardsville. David’s
daughter, Sarah, as well as his son Waverly, and Waverly’s young family, live in Greene County, Virginia.
